Christmas, Anniversary, Birthdays oh my!
We have had a very busy month to say the least.... Christmas, Anniversary, Birthdays oh my!
First there was Christmas, we had a wonderful Christmas! We spent a little part of the day with all our families. We opened gifts at our home with Grandpa Jerry and Grandma Pat. Then we headed to Aunt Peggy's house for a Conrad lunch get together where we exchanged gifts and the kids got to play with their cousin Jack and be adored by their Aunt Susan and Peggy. Our final stop for Christmas was Grandma Tami and Grandpa Russ's house where we feasted some more and opened even more gifts with Grandma Joyce and the Mahrt family. Christmas was the best, it was so great to see all of our family and share a meal with them, we are hoping to spend more time with our families this year because Christmas reminded us just how lucky we are!
Matt and I celebrated 5 years of marriage December 31, it was a wonderful anniversary. Grandma Tami watched the kids and surprised us with a gift certificate to the Cheesecake Factory (one of our favorites). We went for a nice date and enjoyed each other's company. I feel like the luckiest woman to have such a wonderful man as my companion and friend in life and then to top it off he is the best Dad I could wish for my children.
Next was my birthday, I turned 26 January 6th. It was a very happy birthday for me! I had some cub scout meeting to go to and was kind of bummed I wasn't going to get to enjoy the night with my family, Matt surprised me by getting off early and having a party with the kids for me.
Finally it was Matthew's birthday, he turned the big 31 January 16th. I am pretty sure he would tell you he had a great birthday too, at least I enjoyed his birthday :) We went to visit with his Dad and then spend the afternoon with his Mom and Russ and Casey. We had the most wonderful turkey dinner you can imagine and then to top it off cherry cheesecake, Matt's favorite. The best part though was certainly the entertainment, a game and some good old fashioned dancing, Lilia loved this!
So you are all caught up with us, oh wait we have a new nephew too! Jerry Lane the Third (TJ), born December 24 2010, one month sooner than planned, but from what I hear healthy and happy, we can't wait to meet him! Thank you all for your love and company over the past month, we look forward to spending more time with you soon.
